                Still more news...

As so many of our old friends know, we started out as a couple of folksingers.  When we met, in the summer of 1969, the first songs we learned to sing together were some classic Kingston Trio tunes.  We were amazed at how the harmonies came so naturally to us.  The songs were great fun to sing, and they touched a common chord with our audiences.  Over the years, there have also been persistent rumors that we were somehow connected to the Trio by family.  Some folks have even thought that we were members of the Kingston Trio.  Well, there is no family connection, but we still have a great love for the music,  and while we will never stop being Banks & Shane, we are embarking on a new musical adventure.

About a month ago, we got a call from our old and dear friend, Mike McDonnell.  Mike lives in Naples, FL, and has been a pickin' buddy of ours as long as we have known each other.  Mike asked us if we would be interested in putting together a Kingston Trio "Tribute" show.  And that's what we are going to do!  We have rehearsed a bunch of our favorite Trio tunes, and we have even bought us some striped shirts, and we are going to put on some shows in Atlanta Nov. 14, 15, and 16.  Then we take the show to Naples, FL on Nov. 21, and then to St. Augustine on Nov. 22.  Check out our "Tour Dates"   page for ticket information.  We hope you can join us for this great celebration of The Kingston Trio!
